Geoje-do, Koje-do, Geoje-si

  South Korea is surely an unique country with beautiful culture, traditions, beautiful scenic beauty blended with modern western culture. If I write about the country I think I can fill several pages about it. But the focus of this blog is to unveil the small beautiful island which is not a famous one but it has some unique amazing facts and features. I have been living in this island for almost six years now with my husband. We really enjoy every season on this island as the beauty of this island slowly unfolds with the change the seasons.
The beauty of this island lies in the vast sea and the moutains which are surrounding this island. The island is also famous as the heart of ship-building companies as the worlds two biggest shipbuilding companies are located here named DSME and SHI. Its a beautiful island with wide, clean, beautiful beaches, high mountains,gardens, waterfall, camping areas, several small islands nearby which can be reached by small ferry or boat.
The island is divided into four major parts, Neugpo, Jansang-po, Okpo, Gohyan and further down is another city Tongyeon. Main market places for Geoje residents are Okpo And Gohyaan. Okpo is more famous with many foreigners residing here, hence many night clubs, western-style resturants with continental food is available.

Boseong Green-Tea gardens and Damyang Babmboo forest

We started our journey in the morning at 6am and reached the Boseong Daehan Dawon tea plantation at 9am. The place so beautiful with lovely view. Great place to get beautiful pictures. The best part was all the resturants have food, tea, coffee and ice-cream with green tea. The ice-cream and shake was so fresh. I could taste the real green tea. Also the green tea is famous for its numerous advantages as it has anti-oxidants. I bought the tea and green tea chocolate. It was fun to be there. The number of green tea plantations in the region, set on a hillside with rows and rows of green tea bushes were just amazing. Really a scenic view! Amazing LIP Parrot cafe in Geoje

ㅤ A lovely parrot café is opened in Geoje. It is easy to enjoy with the birds as patrons of all ages. The parrots are beautiful birds in various colors and round neck. Overall it is a lovely looking bird. It eats grains, fruits, leaves seeds, pears, nuts, mangoes and boiled rice etc. You can buy the food from the café to feed the parrots. They are omnivorous. Their strongbeak and muscular tongue helps them to eat well. They are the only bird species that can use its foot  to bring to its mouth. They are self medicating birds. They eat clay to detoxify themselves. The parrots are very playful. You can meet the different species of parrots in the café and play with them. Some parrots can talk.
